Helen Cowans works with both paint and textiles. The contemporary textile art reflects a love of many hand and machine embroidery techniques often combined with mixed media.
Work is mainly inspired by science, landscape and eastern cultures and includes a range of items from 3D structures to large wall hangings.
Her fine art paintings create evocative Northumbrian landscapes - informed by wind and rain swept hills, snow capped moors and stormy seas.
