Date and Time | Thursday, 12 December 2019 from 19:30-22:00
Venue | MacArts, Galashiels
The CABN team are hosting the ever popular MANIFEST event to round off the year for makers, producers and supporters of creativity and culture.
MANIFEST is a great event for networking, catching up with other creatives and meeting new people, and is also an opportunity to showcase the wealth and diversity of work that has happened in 2019. A rolling slideshow of images sent in by individuals and organisations in the Scottish Borders is testament to this, and we also have a few creative ‘surprises’ on stage on the night. Details to be confirmed.
The event takes place in the beautiful old church space at MacArts in Galashiels. The bar will be open from 7.15pm, and CABN will provide some free nibbles.
Dress Code: Dress Fancy or come as you are!
In order to keep an eye on numbers we would appreciate if you could book your place via Eventbrite, however you are more than welcome just to come along on the night.
In addition to the opportunity to celebrate and network, we have arranged some entertainment for the night. This year we present poet and comedian Scott Redmond and a special performance from local musician Nicoletta Stephanz.
Hawick native Scott ‘The Redman’ Redmond is Scotland’s leading Romani poet and comedian. Since bursting onto the scene at 17, he has performed on three continents, and headlined gigs up and down the country. Redmond already has a creaking shelf of accolades, including ‘Best Comedy’ at the Edinburgh Dionysia, Semi-finalist, Chortle Student Comedy Awards and Finalist, Scottish National Poetry Slam. His critically acclaimed solo shows ‘Departures’ and ‘Jokes About Things’ have played to international audiences at the Edinburgh Fringe, Glasgow International Comedy Festival. He is also a member of cult alternative double act Mulholland & Redmond. He enjoys long walks on the beach, deep conversations, and esoteric knock knock jokes.
Nicoletta Stephanz is a composer, musician, and recording artist. Nicoletta creates full sensory environments with her voice, electronic and traditional instruments, and through treating found objects, combining sound with aromatherapy, live film, and fengshui.
She has performed and recorded with a variety of musicians and artists including Gong, Daevid Allen, Edward Ka-spel/The Legendary Pink Dots, The Damned, Galactic, and members of Acid Mothers Temple. As a solo artist she usually performs as Coven of One.
