VACMA Advice Sessions | Scottish Borders

Monday 24th September

4.30 – 6.30pm

Eyemouth Hippodrome

Creative Scotland is coming to the Scottish Borders as part of their VACMA roadshow offering advice on how to improve your application to the Visual Artist & Craft Maker Award (VACMA) scheme. These informal information sessions are designed for visual artists and craft practitioners interested in finding out more about VACMA, a national funding programme of small grants to support visual artists and craft makers in their creative and professional development.

We are pleased to host a VACMA advice session with a representative from Creative Scotland available to answer any questions you have relating to the scheme. There will be a short presentation on the scheme from Stepehen Palmer from Creative Scotland and a previous VACMA Award recipient, Andrew Mackenzie, followed by pre-booked 10 minute advice sessions.

This is a free event but booking is essential due to limited space. Tea and coffee will be available, please advise of any allergies and dietary requirements. Individual advice sessions will be allocated on a first come first served basis. After booking you will be contacted by CABN to confirm and allocate your advice session time slot.

More info about VACMA

The Visual Artist and Craft Makers Awards (VACMA) are a programme of small grants schemes with a range of local authorities and art agencies across Scotland to support visual artists and craft makers in their creative and professional development.

Established by Creative Scotland, these partnerships give support at a local level and work with local panels to offer funds to support practitioners at all stages of their career who have demonstrated a commitment to their work and in developing their practice through new work, new skills or new opportunities.

Dumfries and Galloway Council, Live Borders, DG Unlimited and Upland in partnership with Creative Scotland are running a combined Visual Artist and Craft Maker Awards Scheme 2018-2019. The scheme is for individual artists and makers living and working in the Scottish Borders or Dumfries and Galloway. Artists and makers are eligible to apply for awards towards the cost of developing their creative practice. Awards of between £500 and £1,500 are available.

Applications are now open for the VACMA Awards Scheme 2018-2019. The Deadline for the first round of funding is 2nd October 2018. The round 2 deadline will be 5 February 2019.
